Destination: Daylesford

Where? Country Victoria.
Sit down, sit back and start making plans for ChillOut 2006: A Decade of Fairy Tales!

Why? ChillOut is regional Australia’s largest gay and lesbian festival, and it will burst into life over the Labour Day Long Weekend, March 10-13.

Comparing it to all my camping and campy experiences, this is an event not to be missed!

The ChillOut Street Parade has grown to become one of the most fun events during the four-day festival. Vincent Street is closed to traffic on Sunday morning and is taken over by drag queens wearing fabulous frocks on floats; marching bands; the devilishness of dykes on bikes; and too many fanciful treats to describe here.
Then in the afternoon, there's plenty to see, do, eat, enjoy at the Fair Day stalls (come meet the staff of Rainbow Tourism) and entertainment stages.
I highly recommend getting there early on Friday if you need to grab a good camping spot. Plus, if you don't party too hardy that night, you can join us on the golf course at 8.30 am. for Ambrose-style "best ball" 9 holes of play. Bigpond is sponsoring the golf tourney, so there'll be some nice prizes to vy for...ugh FORE!
There is a wide range of accommodation in Daylesford and Hepburn to suit every requirement. With many gay and lesbian owned properties and a welcoming accommodation staff wherever you go your weekend in Daylesford promises to be friendly and hassle free.

See you there! - DownUnder Dee
